On 3 May 2024, the SDG Accelerator—established jointly by the Public Project Office of the Senate of the Parliament, Maqsut Narikbayev University, and the Akimat of Akmola Region—commenced its journey at the MIND platform.
This significant step in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals marks a historic milestone for both our country and the global community.
As part of the Accelerator, seven teams have been formed, each focused on achieving a specific Sustainable Development Goal. From health and education to economic growth and equality, these teams are prepared to rise to the challenge and contribute to building a better future.
The official launch of the Accelerator was attended by the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and members of the Senate, underscoring the importance of this initiative at the national level. Maulen Sagatkhanuly expressed his full support and conveyed his expectations for the teams to generate innovative solutions capable of transforming the country for the better.
Each team member is motivated and committed to working intensively over the course of 100 days to develop and pilot projects aimed at eliminating legal barriers and stimulating industrial development. Project managers from 70 countries, all members of the International Project Management Association (IPMA), will join this unique partnership to provide global experience and expertise.
At the conclusion of the 100-day period (9 August this year), the teams will present their results to the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament, demonstrating their readiness to scale successful initiatives and continue working in the interests of our shared future.
